Boating Enthusiast

I am a boating enthusiast. Have been since the first time my dad took be out in a boat. That was long ago in a place far, far away but the memory is clear today. A row boat, dad, mom and Sis on a pond in Druid Hill Park, Baltimore, Md. We rented a boat that dad rowed. A boy never forgets the first boat outing. Dad and my uncle bought a 3.5 horsepower Wizard outboard from Western Auto and we were in for great fishing trips on the Patapsco River, Middle River and Back River in MD. And since then, I’ve been hooked on boating. That’s more than 70 years now and I am still thrilled to be out on the water.

Boat Clubs

I have been fortunate to have worked for and supported two of the most successful boat clubs that provide boats for its members. The Freedom Boat Club, headquartered in Sarasota, FL and Carefree Boat Club, with more than 28 clubs for its members.

Boat clubs like airplane clubs and high dollar automobile clubs, provide an elite  life style activity at a fraction of the cost of ownership.  These shared asset clubs are one of the fastest growing leisure time activity providers today.

Boat Ownership and Professional Experience

After many years sailing the Chesapeake Bay and Lake Ontario and planning to own a sailboat to sail around the world, time got away and so did that dream. Bought a House Yacht, and for the past 20 years, have enjoyed cruising the Chesapeake Bay estuary. I am currently a Consultant serving many boating related enterprises either directly under contract or broadly through Cross marketing with my website, sales referrals and training. My professional experience includes more than 20 years with Xerox, 13 years in the IT industry with CTG, and more than 10 years with the Boat Clubs. My background is in Marketing, IT, Technical, Mechanical, Customer Service and varied management roles. But, through it all, in most of the years, being on water, here, there or anywhere boating has always been the motivation to keep me here on the coast.
